COLONEL James T. Wofford
Brigade Engineer

Alabama State Defense Force

Colonel James T. Wofford was appointed the Brigade Engineer for the 4th Infantry Brigade, Alabama State Defense Force in September, 1999.

He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and earned his masters degree from Auburn University. Colonel Wofford has held numerous command and staff positions throughout his twenty-five years of military service. His command positions include platoon and company command with the 79th Engineer Battalion and executive officer with the 926th Engineer Group in Saudi Arabia.

He also served as Pipeline Officer, Engineer Officer, Engineer Equipment Officer, Assistant S-4 and S-4 with the 926th Engineer Group; Chief of Maintenance Division and Chief of Unit Training Division for 121st ARCOM and Engineer Staff Officer with the 22nd SUPCOM.

In addition to Colonel Wofford's distinguished military service, he has numerous awards for peacetime and combat which include the Bronze Star, two National Defense Service Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Overseas Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 stars, Southwestr Asia Service Medal w/2 bronze stars and the Kuwait Liberation Medal for Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
